So should the one company to compare it fall or, you know, to lose value, you're hoping the other 499 can pick it up.

All these things, you know, that we hear are based on historical data, right?

So it's not just people having a whim.

You know, if you go through like the 80s, Kodak was a huge company.

Like, where's Kodak today?

You know, then into the 90s,

You had the big car manufacturers.

You had GE, General Electric.

They're no longer there.

And Air to 2000s, IBM was big.

Microsoft, Microsoft's probably still there.

But as you go through the decades, and I think it's a good exercise to look at what the top 10 companies have been and then go look at it today.

And you'll see over time that the top 10 in one decade will not be those top 10 in the next decade.

So if you can take the story from that is the probability of you hitting a winner and keeping that is very low.

You may choose the term lucky once or twice, but will you be able to sustain it for the long run?

Yeah, I don't think you will be.

No, it's certainly not.

So in general, when it comes to investing, there's three principles we need to think about.

The first one is your risk tolerance.

So that's a psychology, just your ability to take any type of risk.
