Waddell caught a school record 85-yard touchdown pass.
on Mueller's third possession and a 28-0 win over Christopher Columbus from Miami, Florida.
The quote here from Tom Waddell, I'd sure rather catch the ball than block, Waddell said.
Tommy, you remember that 85-yarder?
In your career, so you're a high school star, went on to Boston College and the Bears.
We'll get to the start of your broadcast career, but at any point while you're at college or you're just starting your Bears career, did you think about broadcasting?
At any point did that come into your head?
Sylvie, I did not find anything about an 85-yard touchdown catch from you at Niles North in my research, but I do know that your thoughts about sports broadcasting getting involved started a lot earlier.
When did you first consider that career path?
When I was reading about some early parts of your career, Sylvie, it's actually funny.
I think I found this nugget in an article about Carmen DeFalco.
And it was I think it was some kind of Chicago publication that was mentioning bachelors in the in the Chicago area.
And Carm was the profile.
It was like, here's this single 27 year old in Wicker Park.
And you got a little shout out in there.
And you mentioned that you got some of your start calling girls softball and best in show contest for pigs in small town, Iowa.
So you want to tell the listeners a little bit about that?
Tom, I got a Joe Stevenson byline.
Shout out to my former colleague at the Northwestern.
I love Joe Stevenson.
