Because, like, look, the defense could get a boost if Kyler Gordon is able to play, which is the expectation.
We don't know, obviously, how much he's going to play and what he's going to look like.
But, yeah, the defense kind of is what it is.
And if it's not taking the ball away...
It's going to be tough because they're giving up a lot of yards and he's focused on that red zone defense being what can help them.
But yeah, the offense needs to score points.
The offense needs to start fast.
The offense needs to sustain drives.
What I find really interesting about tomorrow's game.
thinking about this slow start thing has been such a topic of conversation, is one of the best opening drives they had all year was against the Packers three weeks ago.
And that was the fourth down trick play where the snap went over a common on guy's head.
Up until that point, it was a really good drive.
So I wonder if, and I asked Declan Doyle kind of about that drive.
And I was just trying to see what things they could โ I don't know if there's anything they could take from that.
But I think there's โ as everybody might be looking for little glimmers of hope, I think that this is an offensive scheme that while I do believe Jeff Halfley has had the upper hand in maybe six and a half of the nine quarters, I do think that Ben Johnson knows what they can do, especially against a Micah Parsons-less defense.
to find success they just have to be consistent and make sure their red zone trips are touchdowns not field goals i should have had this um in front of me i know that i had screenshotted it and used it by the way on the take the north podcast kevin because you know you're we're all part of the same family here now that dan's working for the athletic uh but you had the numbers like when when is the last time the bears scored an actual touchdown on their opening drive in a game
November 2nd, Mark Grody, that was hours after the Dodgers won the World Series, to put that in perspective.
That's actually... I was going to say, not only is it the last time they scored a touchdown, it's the last time they scored points, period, on the first draft.
They even had a field goal.
Because the two, or I should say the three...
