And so I haven't watched a ton of Cardinals baseball, so I don't know exactly what is going on with that team.
But there might be that.
Well, they've lost four in a row.
Yeah, there is that, but there might be that sense of zero pressure for those players because if you and I know the Cardinals were in rebuilding mode, the players know that, so they may just be playing like, whatever, it doesn't matter, we're going to play loosely, and things are going well for them.
It's all about mid-season, I think, for this division.
Who improves themselves?
Who sells at the trade deadline?
If the Cardinals management truly thinks that they're in a rebuilding mode...
Well, they already sold in the offseason.
So my gut is that even if the Cardinals are hanging around, they might still sell because they might be smart enough to realize that the core they have right now is not sustainable because they essentially said that out loud in the offseason and even at the end of last year.
I mean, they traded Brandon Donovan, their all-star, in February, and that was a three-team deal with Seattle and Tampa.
They were unloading new GM, the whole thing.
Right, that's it.
And so in that case, you didn't think, oh, they would be in this position, but because of Cardinals dental magic, they are.
And that is where, if you don't know the term, somebody gets called up from the Cardinals, some random person that you didn't really know about, David Fries, Randall Gritchuk, the like.
