The next year, it takes you guys a little bit to get out of first gear and you finish over 500, but you never quite get back there.
Do you feel some similarities when you watch this team over the first 92 games to what you guys went through in 2012?
I have no memory of that.
You guys closed 29-13.
Yeah.
You were 12 games under on August 19th.
And this is, it's such a fascinating one because like, I believe two of the players in that tray, in the cranky trade ended up being not much, but
Gene Segura was another one of them.
So by 2013, by the next year, I think he was an all-star.
He was an all-star, yeah, yeah.
So you can see it.
And if you're the Blue Jays and you're playing through the, I don't know, Gosman or Sprinter or Varshow or whoever it is, and you see examples like that.
But more often than not, it ends up not being that relevant a move.
And it's, to your point, something that helps you for the future.
Like 2024 brought back nothing to help them down the stretch.
But we see a lot of those guys now helping with the 40-man depth
and things like that are potential guys you could trade away at the deadline.
So that is a concern.
We saw it from the Tigers in 2024 as well.
They sold Jack Flaherty at the deadline.
