Do you sell three games out even if it feels bad?
Or do you, you know, look at the chance of getting there and that being worth it?

The thing that I'm curious about is could you replicate the 2024 deadline in terms of effectiveness?
Because at that deadline, they traded away Kevin Kiermaier, Trevor Richards, Isaiah Kainer-Falefa, Yusei Kikuchi, Justin Turner, Nate Pearson, Danny Jansen, and Jimmy Garcia.

Jimmy Garcia is not healthy.
Dalton Varshow is having an okay year, but heading into free agency, you'd have to weigh two things.
One, would you give him the qualifying offer if you didn't trade him away as a free agent this offseason so that you get a compensation pick for him if he signs elsewhere?
Two, if you would give him the qualifying offer, does the trade return you get back beat the value of that compensation draft pick?
Because otherwise it's not worth trading him.
You'd rather just qualify him.
