And if he does win those type Rookie of the Year or MVP type of awards or even get votes

I think um you know if you finish in top three voting

then you can get rewarded with a draft pick and and that's something where the Pirates brought Paul Skeens along very deliberately because of his pitch count and because of his innings count that this is a guy who had handled, you know, a heavy workload as a junior at L S U and they wanted to be try to have him at the end of the season more so than at the beginning.

But Connor Griffin's a different story.

Like, you know, th this is a guy who, you know

Y you you expect him to be able to handle playing one hundred plus games.

He did it last year.

Uh I I think, you know, to expect him to hit, you know, to play at least a hundred and twenty five games is not out of the realm of possibility, uh, regardless of whether he starts this even with the Pirates or not.

Yeah, it was well, for one it was a very college heavy draft and there was a lot of a lot of guys and I I mistake correct me if I'm wrong, but I I think Nick Kurtz might have been in that draft too.

You know what I mean?

There was a lot of talent in that draft.

I'm I'm ch pretty sure that was the one where Travis Bizzano went uh went number one overall, but but yeah, he he was the first prep player taken.

So, you know, c consider that that this is a guy who there was concerns about his swing because because of his size, because of long the long levers with his arms, that that, you know, he has a big strike zone and he had a long swing.

And and he to his credit, Connor Griffin has, you know, made modifications and adapted better than anybody ever expected.

That that was the one question is whether he could hit with any consistency.

They knew he had the power when he did make contact.

They knew that he had all the other tools
