What did Newcastle mean to you?
Pretty much the same, I think.
My father was a Geordie, born in Hettonley Hall, which is the same place as Bob Paisley.
They all used to speak with this crazy accent that I learned to understand.
And the audience would talk about Newcastle United and also about Yui Gallagher in those days, who was the top player at that time.
So without ever being to Newcastle, you know, I felt this thing inside me, maybe in my genes almost, that was a pull.
And every time I went up there to play, even with Liverpool, when I played against them in the cup final,
It felt something really special.
You know, the fans, I could relate to it.
And I guess that's just because I'd had this imprinted in me from being a young boy.
You know what it was like in the tune, which, you know, I didn't even know what it meant.
So it was sort of imprinted on me from being about four or five.
We're still fighting for this title and he's got to go to Middlesbrough and get something.
And I'll tell you, honestly, I will love it if we beat them.
Love it.
When you do that with footballers, like he said about Leeds, and when you do things like that about a man like Stuart Pearce, I've kept really quiet, but I'll tell you something, he went down in my estimation when he said that.
We have not resorted to that, but I'll tell you, you can tell him now if you're watching it, we're still fighting for this title, and he's got to go to Middlesbrough and get something.
And I'll tell you, honestly, I will love it if we beat them.
