I thought he may have gone at the end of the season.
Because I thought immediately, and it was nothing to do with systems or anything like that.
It was just how he was coming across as the Man United manager.
Head coach, whatever role he needed.
He wanted to be manager.
Yes, exactly.
The message that he was coming out with week in, week out, it just seemed to clash with what the Man United supporters were wanting to hear.
And certainly, as I said before, that core of media...
personnel that's involved now or is involved at various things like Sky, BBC over in England and I watch the Premier League world when I watch a lot of the Premier League matches over here, you'll regularly see Scholes on there, you'll regularly see Nicky Bull, Andy Cole Dwight York, all these X-Men United guys that had so much success that are constantly speaking negatively around the team and around the club and that is not going to help anybody and that's the problem that they have
And I think for Ameren, he wasn't giving the right messages off.
So constantly, after every game, when United had a defeat, the message that was coming out was being relayed by these ex-players and it was being amplified so much.
So the problem I think that United have got is that they've not had a strong enough manager.
That's what I would say.
And that's maybe Ameren's point.
Ameren just didn't seem to...
have the right messages.
It seemed to me like he was never strong enough with his message when he was coming out.
He was trying to protect the club and players at times.
And at times then he was coming out with ultra negative comments about players.
He never seemed to strike a balance, I don't feel.
