It's half the temperature of the surface of the sun.
It's extraordinarily warm.
So they are basically going to be sitting inside a fireball for around five or six minutes.
And they will actually see, though the opal acid is good, I suspect that they will as well because it's the same shape capsule.
They'll be able to see the melting material go by them through the window as they're passing through.
So it's just friction with the Earth's atmosphere.
But again, as you say, they're travelling at 40,000 kilometres an hour.
That's... It's seven miles a second or 10 kilometres a second.
So click your fingers from the centre of town to Hoth, that fast, in a second, they're travelling.
So...
They've got to slow down then actually to around a couple of hundred kilometers per hour in the atmosphere, and then they'll deploy their parachutes.
Actually, which surprises me, only at around 20,000 feet.
So the heat shield is actually really absorbing the lion's share of everything that's to happen.
It really is going to be an interesting ride for them.
And even when I was listening to Victor Glover talk there, you can tell there is a sense of trepidation in them, even though they're experienced people, you know?

because they've done this before.
The difference is when they're coming from the International Space Station, it's a lot slower.
It's 8,000 kilometres an hour slower.
It's still serious, but nevertheless, they will feel this difference.
