So instead of him, you know, getting beat on that fastball inside, glooping it over, you know, the first baseman's head, he's now hitting a solid line drive up the middle, and then it just opens the entire field up to him.
You know, him staying on that changeup yesterday is just him getting rewarded for staying disciplined with his approach.
Yeah, we were just talking about this on, you know, our show that we do, too.
And, you know, I think from a hitter standpoint, obviously, you look at the stuff.
He's got multiple pitches, and they're all pretty elite pitches.
But I think you also have to factor in the fact that he's still a little effectively wild.
You know, he can go from dot and slider down the way to... I mean, we all saw that pitch he threw last night.
He sent one into the backstop, and it disappeared.
You're like...
This is one of the best pitchers on the planet who can dot pitches time and time again, but just somehow forget to throw, forget his mechanics for one pitch and sail it.
So I definitely think there's this uncomfortability factor in facing him, but you talk about his stuff, his ability to... And I think he just is kind of...
You know, I think there's a knock on him a little bit.
I think he I think part of the reason him wanting to come to the Blue Jays is the fact that he can't go deeper into games.
And, you know, it takes him up last night.
It took him 22, 23 pitches per inning to get through five innings.
Right.
The fact that he is so stubborn and not just kind of grooving fastballs or throwing sliders for strikes, it feels like he's throwing his nasty stuff from pitch one, oh-ohing counts.
That's what makes him hard to hit.
I would love to see him not kind of lose his aggressiveness on the way that he pitches, but I would like to see him be a little bit more efficient with his pitches.
Pitch to contact early.
