We and as well as those watching need to understand how we got here.
So maybe Christy, if you could um walk us through kind of uh overview of what the twenty twenty-six uh or um fiscal year twenty twenty seven legislative budget did to our agency in terms of cash flow.
So I know it at one of the
One of the items the legislature adopted is the three million dollar transfer.
From our utility fund to the adj attorney general, which I I think the public needs to appreciate.
is generated uh from rate payer assessments.
And our utilities division relies on those funds for things like rate cases.
But as I understand that sweep along with some of the other transfers um puts our agency in a sizable financial um hole, uh for the lack of a better word, to find to fund our
core constitutional responsibilities of this agency.
And I know
We alerted the legislature, we alerted the governor's office of of what their proposal would do in terms of taking money out of this fund and potentially raising ratepayer rates, but they obviously still proceeded anyway.
So can you tell us what the actual number is?
uh in the red as a result of the twenty seven budget and what proactive steps we've taken.
