I just don't quite see it.
Yeah, I looked this up because I was responsible for writing the Justin Rose capsule as part of our preview.
Only four guys who are, excuse me, five guys who are 45 and older, Julian Boros, Jerry Barber, Jack Nicklaus, Hale Irwin, and Phil Mickelson have won a major award.
At this age, it just gets harder and harder.
The eras have obviously changed.
Golfers are more relevant into their late 40s.
But you throw out Mickelson, who was like a one-week heater that wasn't duplicated before or after.
Now we're going back to Nicholas and Irwin.
We're talking about 40 years ago since a 45-year-old won a major.
It's just tough.
I would love it...
For him and for the game, if it's sort of coming down the stretch, you've got a guy from England in England.
It would be a fun sort of flip to all these tournaments in the U.S.
where these various knuckleheads are cheering against Matt Fitzpatrick and chanting USA stuff.
So you have the crowd sort of just surging with energy behind Justin Rose.
I just don't know if I see it.
He's already done the thirsty boy routine of wearing the burgundy sweater at Troon when he was in the mix that when he first wore it, you'll see the clip a thousand times of 17-year-old him.
Can he play that note again?
Like if he's in contention, can he wear that same sweater of the 17-year-old Justin Rose again?
