I've been a fan for a number of years, and one of the things I love doing is reading golf biographies, and so I found this recently, and I was going through it, and I thought, you know what?

This would be a great chance to talk to Monty about his career and some of the stuff, because I feel like...

I almost feel like I'm a bit of a professor for the younger generation of golf fans because I can sort of educate them on some of the game greats who they might have missed a little bit.

Did you study the sort of greats of the game when you were young and coming up, you know, in Glasgow and stuff?

Did you read a lot about anything?

Yeah.

So my wife grew up in New Mexico.

And in reading your biography, I saw, you know, you started the New Mexico Military Institute.

I did.

I can't imagine knowing New Mexico, a place that feels more different than Glasgow, Scotland.

How did you how did you end up there?

And and I know this is the famous story about you sneaking out in the middle of the night.

But what do you remember about the decision to to essentially be like, this is not for me?
