something very normal like a colonoscopy.
Unusually she had chest pain in the hospital, which is not what we expect from someone who is waiting for a colonoscopy.
So we did an EKG on her.
The EKG looked okay at first and so we said we'd order another one and we'd come back and check and see how she was doing.
And then she went missing.
And we had to look for her all over the hospital and we were really worried because there was this woman who we thought might be having a heart attack, loose in the hospital.
And eventually we found her in the hospital lobby trying to escape.
She had her d her daytime clothes on.
She had gotten rid of her hospital pajamas and she was holding her bag.
And we said, Where are you going?
We we have to check your heart out.
She said
I don't want another EKG.
The last time I got an EKG, um, it ruined my life.
And we said, What do you mean it ruined your life?
And she explained to us that, you know, a few years ago she had been to an emergency department.
Again, I forget the reason, but she had gotten an EKG that um ended up costing a lot of money.
And the whole visit ended up costing, you know, thousands of dollars that
ended up going into going into collections.
And she now was on the hook for something like $50,000, which she was trying to pay off.
