They were like the translator of what was happening in music and bringing it to the people, right?
And that's why DJs were popular.
That's why it was a DJ-driven culture back in the day.
In the early days, when I won DJ awards, it was all for being a DJ.
It wasn't anything to do with music being released or being an artist in the contemporary sense.
It was all DJs.
DJ-driven.
So I think that's what those CDs captured.
They captured all that music that DJs play in the clubs that you're probably not going to hear even on the radio or anywhere else, and now you've got it all in compilations.
And people were like, wicked, yes, awesome.
I'm hanging for that because I can't hear that music outside of a club.
So it really captured that point in time really, really well.
And people just went crazy for it.
They just loved those CDs.
So you could just tour –
the country off of mix CD.
Incredible.
It was an incredible, incredible time for dance music.
You know, people just had this, like, again, this, this hunger for, and this dislike, they just, the vibe was always good.
