Today is Tuesday, august eighteenth, and I'm your host Kim Kahn, filling in for Julie Morgan.
The US thirty year Treasury yield continues its ascent this morning after spiking Monday.
The long bond yield is up to five point three three percent, its highest level since two thousand seven.
Strategist Ed Yardeny says bond vigilantes are becoming more concerned about rising government debt, hyperscalers borrowings, and inflation risks.
In recent months they seem to be stirring around the world, suggesting that they are worrying about government debt problems not only in the US, he said.
Furthermore, while the latest inflation numbers in the US have moderated, the Bonvigilantes are worried that the Fed may not be vigilant enough on this front, especially if oil prices move higher again.
Yardeni said they aren't pushing the panic button just yet, but are closely monitoring whether the Bonvigilantes might do so.

The new session will be part of a 23 hour trading day, with trading running from 9 p.m.
