I also have a situation that we're all very cognizant of, which is an absence of housing choice and optionality in district six.

The petitioner has attempted to meet some of the concerns that we've raised, has ably done so with regard to the back wall, that southern line.

has done so with respect to um some element of affordability and so I will be voting in favor of this petition.

So I have walked the site on my own, um, because it is obviously it's in my district, it's an area that I'm very familiar with.

I appreciate the questions of council members, particularly the thoughtful questions out of Council Member Mayo around some sort of impervious service.

I will say that one of the challenges in in Myers Park has candidly been the age of the infrastructure there.

One of the oldest neighborhoods in town.

We often do have infrastructure that has not kept pace with where we are with some of the sudden storms that come up, and I'm very appreciative of that.

I'm also very appreciative that we have some tight roads back there and we have some waiting times for parents who are picking up children and those sorts of things.

So I'm very hopeful that I'm gonna see a lot of collaboration.

Particularly around the lines of what Councilmember Mayfield was talking about at those times when it is not necessary for it to be used for employees or for folks who are visiting.

um the Charlotte Pipe and Foundry to have that more open to uh to parking uses during the weekend and in the evenings.

So I am right now cautiously optimistic that this will continue to progress along some community benefits that will really um you know present this in a little bit more exciting light because you are right.

Um I don't get real jazzed about a surface parking lot but if you can if you can make it a little bit better.
