The first attempt came in the morning, not long after she vanished.

An attempt to withdraw 3,000 Rand from an ATM, which was declined, followed by more decline attempts.

The kind of pattern that you would get when someone's trying to take too much at once and the bank stops them.

And then for hours, someone hopping from ATM to ATM across the entire city.

Now, this area was called Kwanabuzle and they were taking small amounts, chipping away until they'd taken around three and a half thousand rand in total before her account was locked.

Kwanabuzle is about 11 minutes from Jade's townhouse and also close to where she taught at school.

And here is where the police catch what looks like a break in this entire case.

Now, this clearly wasn't her using her cards.

She would know her pin.

She wouldn't mess up.

And at one point, somebody did mess up her pin, and that's why it was locked.

This also means someone was in contact with her in order to obviously take her cards.

which is a pretty scary thought for her family.

And now that search has moved to the area where residents actually say they heard gunshots, but there was still no sign of Jade.

Her sister said she had so many thoughts going through her head when she realized that someone had been using her bank cards,

She couldn't help but think of terrible things, that her sister could be hurt, that she could be forced into acts with men who probably were holding her captive, or even worse.

But her loved ones just kept hoping for the best, that she was going to be okay, and they would get to her in time.

Now, we all know that ATMs have cameras built into them these days.

So detectives, they hold an emergency meeting that night and they meet with a bank technician and they pull the security footage from the machine that her card was used at to put a face to whoever was standing there at 725 that morning, spending a missing person's money while her family was driving in circles looking for her.

And the footage came up.
