But on day three, there's a break in this case.

This one threw me for a loop.

While analyzing Mindy's phone, investigators find very disturbing voice messages that somebody was leaving for her and the weirdest ones were actually left for her after her murder.

There were a number of these calls and messages.

It wasn't just like one isolated incident.

There were a lot of them.

And it's a man's voice on these recordings.

Here's part of one of those messages.

He says, you know my number, sweetie.

I miss you.

I love you.

You're my inspiration.

Please help me.

Please help me, Mindy.

And he was crying at this point in the message.

He goes on to say, I can't continue without you.

Please help me in some way.

Help me.

This was too strange for investigators to ignore.
