And what you just said is literally the mission behind the Hoop Academy.
We want to create that safe space where kids can have a positive mentor just to teach them, like you said, patience.
Teach them teamwork, communication, all these life lessons.
And I'm just so blessed.
Again, I went through a lot of
tragedy and chaos in my life, but it opened up to where I am today, where I can actually teach those values.
And because the organizations like the Boys and Girls Club, they helped me become the man I am.
They taught me how to become a mentor.
And I'm scared to see where my life would have been without basketball, without the friendships that was formed.
And that's what I experienced.
That's what I want to relay back to the kids in our program.
Growing up, the Boys and Girls Club, they taught me leadership.
They gave me that safe space.
They gave me my love for basketball.
And now I have the opportunity to create what I love, mentorship, give it back to my community, basketball, and to an impact on this world.
