Public health and doctors talk to them and make partnerships with African-American communities and say, like, we see you.

We see the damage that we've done in the past.

We want to try and rectify that.

We want to gain your trust.

We see that being effective, not necessarily in taking down all the hesitancy, but in bringing up uptake, certainly during the COVID vaccine or the COVID pandemic.

Whereas with white evangelicals, I think they were seeing the COVID shot as an opportunity to oppose a government and a system that they didn't like.

I couldn't speak to that.

I don't know if that increases skepticism.

But I hear what you're saying, and I think you're absolutely right, that we have a very strong American individualistic culture that is lots of people and kind of like ingrained into our cultures to be oppositional or to be suspicious of the government and of anything that seems like socialized medicine or guaranteed health care.

No, I think it's absolutely the case that there's at least a very strong sense of distrust of doctors and of the medical establishment that's been growing, especially with, and it doesn't make...

it doesn't necessarily tie specifically to evangelicalism, but this is the group who has kind of taken it on now.

And also concerns with big pharma and seeing that, feeling like, you know, the medical establishment, so to speak, isn't taking care of them.

And we could see like lots of, we could go back and think about many different, you know,

policies that could have been different and changed where we are now.

But we have what we have now.

And yet there is still, with all of this, quote, independence, there is still a lot of skepticism towards doctors and public health and wondering if they have people's best interests at heart.

And I think that gets at people.
