I didn't appreciate or understand or pay attention to cancer until I had it. matched

I'm such a petty-ass person that I almost got offended with people for not paying attention. matched

I'm like, are you guys not aware that there's people who are dying of cancer here? matched

And I was one of those people that was operating as though it was just so prevalent that it wasn't even worth the focus. matched

And now I focus on helping as many people as I can. matched

Not my fellow veterans, not just my fellow veterans, but people that are battling cancer because... matched

I mean, I was texting my sister-in-law's mom yesterday who had to go in to get a cancer treatment. matched

I'm like, hey, you got this. matched

You know, I'm trying to give her some love and support. matched

And I think it means a lot. matched

I mean, it meant a lot to me when people would send me prayers. matched

That may not sound like shit to anybody else, but that meant a lot to me. matched

You know, people caring about me. matched

That was even the smallest gestures. matched

And I should fight. matched

These people want, they want to see me healthy, right? matched

So, and there are people that are listening. matched

Maybe they don't have cancer, but maybe they're, God forbid, their kids do. matched

As tragic as it may sound, matched
