So what if we could have gotten money to people faster and their homes didn't flood and they were safe?

But the challenge in what goes on in the US and

I'll talk to people from other nations that have 10 financial institutions or 20.

And they'll say, well, why can't you guys do it?

Well, we have 10,000, right?

We've got a lot of legislation and regulation and compliance, which gets in our way.

And it's driven.

So part of the delay is driven by this legacy architecture.

Part of it is driven by we just haven't talked.

So Powell, the FEMA director, calls us a convener.

and says we do this really unique thing as this nonprofit by bringing in government, federal, state, and local, NGOs, gigantic ones, global, foundations, corporates, and charities so that we're all together focused on getting funds to the right person at the right time.

for the right purpose with the data to prove it.

So that's part of it.

The other part is the legacy systems on the side of disaster.

So I've got a lovely friend who's in the Office of Resilience in a very large state that gets hit all the time.

And she likes to say each of these organizations, whether they're government or private sector, they operate in silos of excellence.

They deliver on their mission really well, but they don't share information.

So if you end up as a survivor, your funds might be greatly delayed because this NGO is afraid you already got money from that NGO for the same purpose.

And so you don't get any money.

So information sharing has been part of it.
