Hey, I'm Kirsten McNamee, and you're listening to the Thinking About Podcast.
If you know anything about this podcast, you know that sometimes some conversations stay with you long after you stop hitting recording.
I actually hope that all of them do.
Three years ago, Gabrielle Scout came on Thinking About, and she shared one piece of advice that I've genuinely carried with me ever since and quoted about 500 times.
She said that when you don't know what you need to tell the world to think about the person that you were two years ago and create for her.
And I tell people that a lot.
I tell myself that a lot when I think about what we should talk about on here.
And it's been such a big piece of advice for me.
So when I realized that it'd been three years since that conversation, it felt like it was time for bringing Gabrielle back.
For those of you who haven't met her before, she's the founder of Scouts Agency, which is a podcast publicity agency that's helped hundreds of entrepreneurs use podcast guesting to grow their business.
She spent years helping women becoming more visible, connecting to the right audiences and sharing their expertise in a way that creates real opportunities.
And she's also the author of my favorite book, The Emotional Entrepreneur, which I'm thinking it's time for me to pick up again.
Wow, life has changed for Gabrielle since we last spoke.
She's walked through motherhood, rebuilding her business, stepping away from parts of her career, navigating enormous personal changes and finding her way back to herself.
What I love most about this conversation isn't that she had all the answers, even though she does un-gatekeep so much in this episode, it's that she's willing to share what it actually looked like to rebuild her life again.
We talk about the visibility gap and why so many incredibly talented women stay hidden, something that I fall for all the time myself.
We talk about what happens when you finally decide to take up space, why honesty is becoming one of the most valuable things you can bring to the internet, and how opportunities we dream about often can start by simply letting ourselves be seen.
