was highly touted as a young a young player in our league had some injuries early on but then at 18 and 19 really started to take off and you know from a character standpoint and what this guy can bring um you know with his physical play and he's been pretty good offensive touch with his shot um he was a guy that we were certainly quite interested and were able to acquire all right so he is a about about a six foot one left shot defenseman
Yeah, we acquired Jackson Fooder.
Jackson's a 19-year-old player, extremely hard-nosed, 200-foot guy.
He's one of those guys that's a bit of a pest out there, but also is a guy that can play in your top nine, can produce offensively.
When come playoff time and when you're down the stretch and you're playing against some of the better teams in the league, this is the type of guy that shows up and plays in those big moments.
So exciting for us to be able to
to acquire him from Red Deer.
It's not often we make trades with Red Deer, but I know the last one we made was for Jackson Weave and very similar style player.
And I mean, he was a huge part of our team when we went to the Memorial Cup that year.
And even another guy I remember acquiring back in the day from Swift Current, Andrew Flayton, was a big part of our team too, the year that my first year under the job here.
So anytime you get these competitive guys that show up every night in the big moments, you're excited as a GM.
No, 100%.
Yeah, and that was the game we did win, and we've scored the overtime winner against the host.
But yeah, no, again, 200-foot guy, shows up, competes.
It's hard to find these players nowadays, unless you can really identify them young and draft them and build them into your organization.
You know, that's one way to do it, but oftentimes I just find, you know, you're picking those guys in the fifth, sixth, seventh round, and then they're behind so many of your highly skilled picks, and you've got to bring your skilled guys in at 16 and 17, and they kind of get lost in the shuffle.

A lot of the times to get this player on your team, it just seems like it's through acquisition at the end of the day.
Yeah, Fuder, Jackson Fuder, Adam Yakko, and Reese Peterson are all sidelined right now.
And, you know, we expect all three of them back, you know, sometime after the midpoint of January, but certainly before February.
