No, it's because um Catherine, which is what I go by generally, is too long, I felt as a name.
And um uh uh it just I don't know, there's a there's a sort of trend within
science fiction writers and others just to sort of abbreviate your name.
And I do think it's sort of like following on a great tradition.
I also um I also have this sort of weird vision of having like Ian E and M banks, like different sort of versions of my names on different book covers.
Yeah.
So I've I've been I've been um
working on a series for five to eight year olds, which we'll see where it goes anywhere, where I'll I'm more likely to be published as Kitty because if you're writing sort of dark and sort of quite shocking thrillers for young adults, the word the name Kitty Castle doesn't really
You know, doesn't really engender the idea.
It's too crazy.
Can you tell us about it?
I'll do my best.
Um so my latest book came out in February this year.
Control Alter Delete.
It is called Control Alter Delete.
And it's uh a book
set in a near future, sort of Black Mirror Meets the Hunger Games kind of story.
Um, very much about a young uh girl living in a world that where you can't tell what's real.
because the technology that everybody's using blurs that line so effectively with augmented reality, virtual reality, you name it.
you not knowing if the person you're talking to in the end of uh you know the conversation is even a human.
