that Vice Mayor Chao and Council Member Wong has done this internship program for students.

What a great way to bring up our future leaders here and also a great opportunity for the students.

It's really nice to see the collaboration.

and lastly another thank you for talking about what we could speak with regard to valgo so when i saw this thing two things came to mind i do hope you look at peggy griffin's uh commentary uh regarding regarding the wall issue um this is something that was has been long standing there for that neighborhood and i do believe it needs to be preserved

The other thing that came to mind that I've spoken with this body numerous times, although a body with different people on it, which is why I'm bringing it up again today, is that...

This program has continually changed, but also continually grandfathered in.

One, with fees.

And fees, these are mitigation fees, which are intended to make up for the costs that we would have in...

in having this development.

So it's not taxes, this is something that affects, that impacts the community.

So if we have to put in sidewalks and things like that, and anyway.

so mitigation fees are really important and because these fees have been established a long time ago and now the costs have gone up we the residents are going to wind up having to subsidize this project which has morphed into something very much different and i'm hoping that this body can once again take a look at this because mitigation fees are important and i can't speak more about them enough about them the other thing

regarding this project, I guess this makes number five, and this was my primary thing, is I was really alarmed the last time I took a look at this project that there was going to be a freeze on the building codes from a really long time ago.

We want our buildings to be current.

And the other thing is, by using old building codes, it makes it really, really hard for our building department to figure out which code they're in when they come in to do inspections, when they're doing new codes for fire, old codes for building.
