They taxed at 78%.
And Inpex, a company that gets its gas for free from us, is currently, as we speak, looking to drill again in Norway.
So they've completely disproven their point, like, every time they open their mouths.
Well, I just say, listen to the experts that are independently paid, that do the research independently and have the data to back it up.
Because what you'll find about gas industry talking points is, oh, wait, they're funded by the gas industry.
And what's their incentive?
Like, this is what we punters intuitively understand.
The gas industry gets rich when we give them gas for free and when we let them not pay tax.
So let's face it.
What are they going to tell us?
They're going to tell us that we need to keep giving them free stuff.
We need to keep subsidising their industry.
And when they say it will kill investment, name another democracy.
that has all the resources you want, that's stable, that you can access and drill.
There's not too many, especially in this global climate at the moment.
If you can make $1 of profit, you will stay here because you would have to then explain to your shareholders, while global gas is in the most demand it's ever been in, thanks to the war in Iran, you're going to have to explain to your shareholders why you left because you didn't want to pay 25% export tax, but you were still going to make a profit.
So...
It relies on us not understanding business 101.
My year 10 students that I used to teach, well, they understand business 101 and so do regular punters.
