The only thing regulation can do, in my opinion, is stop that innovative culture.
So if the government took major equity shares in a company and because of that provided unfair access for those companies to its products and its people, by definition, they're stopping the startups who have better ideas to come and compete for it.

Because we are creating so much wealth, is there a way to take a portion of that wealth and make sure that the people caught in the transition don't have to suffer as collateral damage?

That's for the political figures to figure out.

You know, we in Silicon Valley said everybody learn how to code because if you don't know how to code, you don't have a future.
Suddenly comes AI and we are saying you coders have no future.
