Uh we are gearing up.

Yeah, I've been uh

In Edmonton for, you know, about over a month now and um yeah, everyone's starting to you see all the players coming in and skating.

The majority were on the ice today.

And uh starting with some coaches meetings tomorrow and yeah, we're we're ready.

Uh, there is.

Um, you know, they were born in British Columbia.

Um, they moved when they were six and three, my kids were, and um, you know, uh my wife and I, we went to school here at the University of Alberta.

Uh we're both from Saskatchewan, so come back out west.

Uh we're very excited about it.

Um not easy for our kids, especially one of 'em that's uh about to graduate this year, he's in grade twelve.

So it was a big commitment for him to change schools.

But um we've been hearing great things from the kids, uh saying how positive it is and how much they're enjoying it so far.

Yeah, it's been uh quite a bit different.

But um like I said, many times everyone's been very nice and polite and encouraging and

You know, I was, you know, able to do a lot of things in the around the city this last month and um, you know, going to um shows and um went to uh Elks game the other night and um yeah, a lot of things and you know, maybe some pictures, some hey way to go coach and stuff like that.

Uh but uh yeah, overall it's been good.

Well, there's the uh old um saying about championship or uh defense wins you championships and and any time um there's a change of coaching or in a team that's underperforming, usually underlining that or um the reason is

the defense isn't good enough or you're giving up too many goals and whether that's poor defense or uh poor goaltending, um, you know, we were able to do quite well in that area.

And I think probably the biggest reason for the goals against coming down was one, the improved panic kill that made great strides under uh Mark Stewart.
