A lawyer for a 19-year-old identified as KGM citing internal documents from Meta and YouTube alleging both companies set out to get children addicted to the platforms to show ads and make a profit.
The teen accuses the tech companies of knowingly creating addictive features that led to her depression, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.
Meta and YouTube deny the allegations.
Both have stressed they've rolled out safety features to protect users.
Snap and TikTok were also named in the suit but settled, both also denying any wrongdoing.
