And we fortunately had family nearby that was willing to take us in, but we learned about contamination.

And so we didn't want to contaminate our family's house with our moldy stuff.

And so we literally left our home with the clothes on our backs, went straight to Target, bought new clothes, changed into those new clothes from Target, and then moved in with our family.

And we only were able to salvage about, like I said, 20% of our stuff.

And then we had to figure out what do we do from here because we have testing that shows that our home is moldy.

So if we're going to sell our home now and try to just ditch it, we have to disclose that there's a mold problem.

So what do we do?

And that was a really, really hard situation to be in.

So what did you do?

Ultimately, what we did is... Hindsight's 20-20.

It's very, very hard to look back and know what we would do in that situation now.

But what we ended up doing is hiring a local inspection and remediation company.

Not what I would have done if we were staying in the house.

But in order to legally sell it, we needed to legally handle the mold problem.

So we had a conventional company come in and remediate the crawl space, which is what on paper you would need to do to sell it.

Now...

Morally, I struggled with that decision because I was like, this is the only thing we can afford.

You know, it's costing like a thousand dollars instead of ten or twenty thousand dollars.

And there very well could be mycotoxins that are released from this type of treatment and mold fragments flying around.

I prayed heavily over whoever moved into that home after us that God would protect them.
