I, you know, try my hardest to kind of be well-informed and read and know what's going on in my world.
And when I started this book, I was embarrassed to admit internally, like I knew who Bernie Getz was, but I had no idea the names of the people who he had shot.
What about the Black Press?
Amsterdam News.
Yeah.
Very differently.
Very differently.
You know, of course, you knew who those victims were.
You knew what had happened to them.
You knew the context, right?
I got a lot of it from there.
And I also got a lot of it because ultimately one of the most severely injured victims, his mother is this kind of diehard advocate on behalf of her son, Daryl KB.
And there will be a civil case against Bernie Goetz where a jury will award him $43 million.
This is how kind of...
how obvious to them it is, the damage, a Bronx jury.
And that deposition, that trial transcript, so much came out in there that I think was really blurred over in the criminal trial.
I mean, you know, Ketz is... He is...
unapologetic and it doesn't, he's, he says, you know, in this, one of these moments, you know, that surely KB, Daryl's mother should have had an abortion.
She, he, he should never have been born.
He ends up deposing the, the young man that he actually paralyzed in this civil case.
