It's almost like a concert-level scream, a different kind of feel to people's in awe of these superstars.

And the game has changed a little bit that way.

Of course, people still celebrate teams and countries and the unity that brings together the World Cup, the pride of the support in your country.

But the stars, it has never been this way in this sport to this extent.

Yes, World Cups have always been connected with superstars going back to way before any of us were around, you know.

But, you know, Pele's had his World Cups and Maradona's had his World Cup and Gorincha had his World Cup.

And a lot of them had a World Cup, but...

To have this amount of unique individual superstars performing so well is unprecedented.

And so I think that has been really great for the World Cup.

And as you alluded to it, just to be on our North American soil as well just makes it really special.

Here's what I make of it.

I put it in two different buckets.

One, the buckets, let's go with your three examples.

One of the buckets for me is how difficult the sport is to officiate.

And if we want the referees to be the experts in their field and then give them the video support to do so, once they've used that video support to do that, and they know the laws of the game way better than anybody, and they go out there and enforce those laws of the game using that video,

If that still does not go our way, you have to ask, why is it not going your way?

Is it not going your way because the laws of the game do not support your argument?

Or is it not going your way because you necessarily didn't get the fact that you were able to keep a 2-0 lead?

Or you were able to not score a goal in the last second of a World Cup game to take it to extra time?

So for me, the idea that an official is going out of his way to support what FIFA wants to keep a certain player or a certain team in a tournament is ludicrous.
