Basically, a governable arm that would be an answer to the conservatives, because the conservatives have always led here.
A lot of people don't know this because they associate us with Scandinavia, where the red block or social democrats have always been very strong, but the conservatives were always a strong power here.
Then we went into government or the party went into government post-financial crisis to clean up the mess of the conservatives of other parties.
It's a very difficult time, cuts in welfare, cuts in social costs.
And it was very difficult for the party.
Yeah, we can live through this highly traumatic experience.
I mean, this is like a huge trauma trigger for Icelanders talking about the financial crisis.
But we had banks that were like tenfold Icelandic GDP, right?
And so this is, I'm not saying things haven't gotten better since then, but
In a way, this tells you a lot how the Icelandic system works, both because of our currency, our economy, our size.
If you have a trend somewhere, it becomes a mega trend here, right?
And so we just had a massive blow up and then basically build up and then crash of the financial crisis here.
I mean, the government took over the banks.
We had massive foreign debt here.
