I mean most families would consider this a family breakdown, a crisis point.

It doesn't look like recovery.

It's not what you would expect recovery to look like.

But this is a form of processing for the child.

So there are so many difficulties accompanying that process of letting go and be being able to create a low demand environment.

But I think

A lot of families will find that they don't have a choice about it because their child

will just put their foot down after a period of being in that survival mode.

There's

no willingness to go back into it in any capacity.

They will not get in the car and go to an appointment.

They will not brush their teeth.

They will not get in the shower.
