That is so disgraceful.
It is such a lie.
And then this throwing around of the term blood libel for literally anything, including just supporting human rights and international law, is so depraved and so counterproductive if you actually care about fighting against any kind of bigotry.
I agree with you.
What I've seen is that people really appreciate that he even cared to try and that he had a transparent approach and said, look, we believe in international law and this, you know, warrant should be upheld.
But I just frankly don't have the power to do it here in New York City.
And he has so much credibility on delivering on his promises.
You know, it'd be one thing if it was just a raft of excuse.
I'm sorry, I can't do affordable child care.
Sorry, I can't do the buses.
Sorry, I can't do the grocery stores.
Sorry, I can't freeze the rent.
But on all of his key promises, he's delivered.
So when he comes to you with one and says, you know, this is one that we just we don't have the power to actually get done.
People hear that and they don't see it as an excuse.
They go, well, we can tell you're you're trying hard.
You know, we we appreciate that you actually genuinely hold these values and believe in human rights and can see that it's the federal government that is failing us in that moment.
So I think he gets a lot of grace from that regard, too, because he's just been so good and diligent about fulfilling values.
the promises he made and going beyond the promises he made in terms of the way that he has governed the city.
