You know what working people ask about?
they ask about what are your demands and i and first thing they want to know many of them not all of them but many of them is she a democrat if she is a democrat i'm not interested you know that's the response we're getting from young people wow young people want independent politics and there is a lot of excitement around our campaign for three reasons russell one is that i'm not a democrat and it's the demands we're running on very powerful demand you know ending all military aid to israel
for a permanent arms embargo on Israel, and free healthcare for all funded by taxing the rich, so on and so forth.
And we can get into the demands in a bit.
And the third reason is my track record.
People are the most excited when they recognize that this is not another careerist candidate who's going to sell us out.
This is a person who has a 10-year track record on the city council.
I have shown that it is possible to win elections and not sell out.
And
that after winning elections, you can actually win elections.
I mean, win victories for the working class.
We won the nation's highest minimum wage.
You mentioned this, that wages now
Yeah, that was the first.
I mean, my first campaign in 2013, I ran it on the flagship demand of ours was the $15 minimum wage.
We won that victory less than six months after I took office in 2014.
But one of the pitch battles that we won during that fight, Russell, as you know, is inflation increases.
And that's why
The wage today is $21.30 an hour.
