It's not ahead of schedule, nothing like that, but he's just on time.

He hits all his markers, and come January, which would be right around the 10-month mark, 49ers in the playoffs, now Ricky has a chance to rev himself up and maybe, maybe, maybe contribute after all that time off, right, and be a threat in the playoffs.

Was that worth the risk?

knowing that and again this it's so easy to do this in hindsight because we don't know what he was doing from march to july through july even when i was in otas they were holding him out so that tells me that they were cautious or trying to be overly cautious then but wouldn't it have made more sense

looking at whatever data you had, understanding that realistically he was probably going to need surgery to have it right away.

And best case scenario was he was going to miss the regular season, but maybe, maybe, maybe come back and help you in the playoffs.
