According to the Small Business Administration, there are just north of 36 million small businesses in the United States.
That's companies with less than 500 employees.
And they account for, get this, 99.9% of all the businesses in this economy.
And right now, it seems the vast majority of them do not plan on growing very much anytime soon.
Just 7% of small business owners say now is a good time to expand.
So said the National Federation of Independent Business today.
