But I talked to one scholar in Louisiana, a law scholar in Louisiana, and she told me that if you come into a marriage with lots of student loan debt and you and your spouse
while you and your partner are together, you know, during the marriage, you're paying off some of those student loans.
Because it's money earned during marriage, it's considered community property.
So when you get divorced, your ex can ask you for some of the money back.
