Even if it sounds like the dumbest thing in the world, write it down.
And then at the end of that week, we're all going to come back and talk about it.
That's an idea of a home for an individual.
Inside of an organization, an idea needs a home to live.
What I mean by that is if I work for you on your team, do I know like what are the problems that are keeping you up at night?
What are the things that as a leader you're stressing about or struggling with or you can't figure out?
Do I know even what those are?
Because oftentimes the answer is no.
Like we talked about, leaders think I've got to solve the problem myself.
I got to keep all this inside or I don't want to burden my staff with this.
So do I know what those problems are?
And then number two, this is just as important.
Do I know how to suggest a solution?
If I have an idea that could solve that problem, where do I put that idea?
Who do I tell it to?
How do I submit it?
What's our process for vetting ideas?
How do we sort out the good ones from the bad?
How do we separate the wheat from the chaff?
What resources do we have available?
