One of the cases investigators revisited after Thomas Knott's arrest was the unsolved nineteen sixty-two murder of sixty-year-old Daisy Hopwood in Newport, Rhode Island.
According to a story published by the Newport Daily News, Daisy disappeared on the night of November seventeenth, nineteen sixty two, about two months before Thomas was taken into custody.
She left the home she shared with her sister at around eight o'clock that night to walk roughly a mile to her brother William's house.
Daisy knew the route well and brought her dog with her.
Around midnight, Daisy's loyal pup came home alone.

Daisy's sister reported her missing early the next morning, and police began searching almost immediately.
On Monday morning, November nineteenth, Daisy was found dead in a wooded area near a park.

Her purse was missing, but her watch and costume jewelry were still with her.
Daisy had been brutally attacked.
