So that's why that debate at the moment about childcare being free and suddenly we're having to pay for it again.

But yes, you're right.

There's this perception that your costs are going to go up.

Now I've obviously got, I've got two children, seven and five, and I was, I'm in the situation where I became financially independent before my first child arrived.

So that was very lucky.

But what people would probably be thinking is how much do your costs go up when you have kids?

And this is a how long is a piece of string question, right?

Definitely.

So it's about, you know, what kind of schooling you want to give them.

You know, a private school is 25 plus grand a year.

It's like buying a car and driving it off a cliff, you know.

I didn't come up with that.

But it is.

It's serious money, you know.

Like if I wanted to put both my kids through private school, that would be $50,000 that I'd have to earn.

And that's after tax, right?

So, you know, so I think people see things like that.

They see the cost of having the child at home and food and they worry about it.
