And, of course, when they're little, you don't know.
Like I still haven't decided whether we'll send our kids to private school or not.
And I certainly don't have enough assets to cover the passive income for that extra cost at the moment.
If I wanted to send my children to a private school for high school, we would need to go and earn that money.
But we would be able to.
I feel like both my husband and I would just be able to go back to work.
I've got my businesses.
I still do some consulting.
He's also an engineer.
So it really is a question of priorities for us.
It's not a question of finances.
I think some people say, oh, well, I've got financial independence.
I'm never going to earn money from an income again.
That's not really true.
Like lots of people are going to have little jobs that they do or some consulting that they do or you can pick up a job for a few years if you want to cover that cost.
So I don't think it's a reason to say, no, I can't get to financial independence because
But you might want to factor in that slightly increased cost.
And then I think as well, let's say you don't get to financial independence but part of your living costs are covered by your financial independence fund.
So you've got some dividends, some rent, some yield, whatever you've got coming in, coupons from your bonds, interest from the bank if that ever happens into a reasonable magnitude again.
You never know.
