My parents were just individuals.
And so that wasn't โ yeah, at the end of the day, people could just scatter.
Like, you know, they kind of weren't โ yeah, they hadn't sort of โ they thought they had cultivated these roots, eh?
But when push came to shove, actually, yeah, it wasn't that way, unfortunately.
And I do think it's a little bit green-eyed monster, like you say.
And also, you know, it's almost like, aha, gotcha.
You thought you were so good in the community doing all your good work, but actually we caught you.
You know, there's that kind of sense of that going on.
So that was kind of when I got hit up about the not saying what hip-hop is properly thing, defining it properly.
I just kind of wanted to face it.
I never wanted to be like scared of it because I kind of almost always expected that there's going to be this aha moment where someone's going to be like, see, you think you're so cool.
So I've kind of like been prepared almost.
I'm so glad times have changed where people like you that actually, you know, advocate for the realness and for actually what's needed are supported.
That makes me feel good for you.
