So I think the physical part and the hockey IQ part needs to go hand-in-hand.

like the the referee like everybody wants to see more goals and i agree with that but it's it's hard now you have to be elite skater like you cannot be holding or hooking anymore like it was in 80s 90s maybe early 2000s you know so right now now you have to be good skater you need to know you have to have a good awareness really good details like i teach kids all the time uh how to use the stake properly how to angle people off

So all these things are super important.

I remember coming into my first camp,

uh and i was always holding the stick in two hands away from the puck and next he was like pretty pissed off like he's like with this european kid he's got zero detail so i remember he he he taped he taped the puck in my hand my left hand so i couldn't hold my stick in two hands yeah and i had to skate like that for the entire practice like he had these kind of uh things that would uh teach you but uh yeah

I used it too at times with players because it teaches them that if you're away from the puck, the stick should be always in one hand so you cover most of the ice.

But yeah, all these little things I learned throughout my career, I'm trying to share that experience with these new generations, and I'm really enjoying that.
