I mean, let's be honest.

With a guy like Lekker Mackey, with his skill set and body and frame, he's either going to figure it out how to score at the NHL level or he's going to play in Switzerland or Sweden or the Russia.

Yeah.

Right?

Like, it is what it is because he'll easily go be able to play there and score.

But, of course, the goal is to be able to do that here from both sides.

The player wants to do it and, of course, the team wants him to step up and be able to do that.

But for him, he can make the play out of pressure.

He sees the ice well.

He can do all of that.

The part of the game that he still hasn't figured out at the NHL level, and honestly to a degree at the American League level, is how to utilize his shot more.

He's got such a good release, and in a lot of ways, that's the only way he's going to play in the NHL.

He's not...

You're not going to have a guy that size with the way that he plays on your third line every night.

Definitely not on your fourth line.

At the start right now, yes, that's fine, but he's either going to score for you or he's moving on.

So you need him to get those reps and keep finding it because it is a big difference from the NHL to the American League.

And if you're talking about a guy...

coming down over the blue line, and in the American League, he can do a full wrist shot because he likes having that full kind of pull in and shot.

Well, sticks are better at the NHL level, and we saw them get deflected a ton.
