He still had nine more marathons to complete.

So he said that he completed these marathons despite having a hairline fracture in his leg.

And he said that he used painkillers and variously he said he also used ice baths as well.

And Andy Murray repeated that story and actually said it inspired him ahead of some of his tennis matches.

Well, people repeated that story.

Journalists reported on it.

It was completely unknown at that point.

So perhaps people didn't even think about it or consider it.

But I think when you put it in the context of some of the other things he's said, it seems to fit a pattern of things that seem absolutely remarkable, almost miraculous.

Yeah, this is a claim that a lot of people looked at, which would make him one of the world's most gifted ultra runners.

I mean, that is staggering.

To put that into context, the first woman to break that barrier only did it last year.

The men's record is 650 miles in six days.

So an incredible feat.

And when I spoke to him, obviously I asked him about this.

Doubts had been raised before our conversation.

Did he want to clarify?

And he said, well, actually...

I did it in 12 days and we did rest days in between because of wear and tear from his other charity efforts.

So Professor Arday clarified to us that actually he was part of a syndicate of around 100 people who'd raised this money.
